Thereafter, ensuring it can represent its members' issues effectively during negotiations with authorities, developers, and other stakeholders.
Qerwa has continuously approached various institutions of justice, from the district courts to the Supreme Court, to secure representation and effective remedies and action for their members on various issues. In 2018, QERWA successfully secured an interim stay to prevent the sale of a community park via E-auction by the Chief Administrator of the Housing Board. Additionally, QERWA has consistently won against arbitrary practices by entities like DLF, including a significant victory in 2003 when DLF agreed to acceptable terms regarding increased maintenance.
QERWA continues to pressure DLF to complete pending infrastructure work and transfer maintenance of DLF Enclave to the MCG, as ordered by the government, to avoid additional maintenance charges for poor services. Through its associated bodies, QERWA has also compelled the government to reconsider policies allowing construction of more than four floors without necessary infrastructure improvements, ensuring residents do not suffer from poorly executed policies.
